There are at least two artists called Sparkles. 1. Sparkles were a 60's garage, psych, rock & roll band from Levelland Texas. Best known for "No Friend of Mine" originally released in 1967 and immortalized as a garage classic with it's inclusion on the first Nuggets record. Originally formed in '58. First single was "U.T." (for Untitled) released in '62 by Caron. In '66 they were signed to the Hickory label and released the single "The Hip," a major hit in Austin, Texas.
