Karl Hofstetter and John Spencer emerged from the desolate Indianapolis music scene in late 2000. Frustrated by common songwriting processes and seemingly ignorant song structures the duo threw out all compositions and just let their instruments (drums and electric four sting bass, respectively) speak to one another. On Glossolalia, the group’s first release on Sounds Are Active (co-released with the band’s own Joyful Noise imprint who released the self-titled LP) Melk The G6-49 defined their sound as heavy and grainy, combustable at any moment.
