Lehakat Pikud HaMerkaz (Central Command Band) Formed in 1953, this military band became a cornerstone in Israeli music in that era. Amongst the band's hits are "שנינו מאותו הכפר", "יא ליל", "וזוהי רק ההתחלה", "הימים האחרים", "גבעת התחמושת", "מסביב למדורה", "סימן שאתה צעיר", "שומר החומות", "שירו של צנחן" and more. Many of the band's veterans are a part of Israeli entertainment culture to this day.
