Ana Gabriel (born María Guadalupe Araújo Young, on December 10, 1955 in Guamúchil, Sinaloa, Mexico) is a Mexican singer and composer. She was born into a Mexican family of mixed Spanish-Chinese ancestry. She first sang on the stage when she was 6 years old, when she sang Regalo A Dios by José Alfredo Jiménez. She moved to Tijuana, Baja California, where she studied accountancy. The place where she had her first artistic presentation was at the night club Las Redes, south of Playas de Tijuana. When she was 22 years old she recorded her first song entitled Compréndeme in 1977.
