There are at least six bands named Monastery... A death metal band from South Holland formed by members of Entombed and Sinister that released a couple of splits and an EP in the early 90s. Another death metal band from the Netherlands that released some thrashy EPs in the early to mid 2000s before also splitting up. A Polish thrash act that has put out three albums so far, and is currently the only active band on this list. A German speed metal band that put out an album in 1997. A Czech doom metal band that pressed a demo in '99.
