The orchestra was founded in 1996 as the New Concert Big Band. In 1999 the band swiftly moved to center stage under an arrangement with Amsterdam 's prestigious Concertgebouw to become the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. Currently, the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw has more than 35 000 visitors a year at up to 50 concerts throughout The Netherlands and Europe. The bigband has a high quality standard and has the ambition of further growth both in quality and quantity.
