“Communism” is a conceptual art project founded in January 1988 by Egor Letov, Oleg Sudakov (“Manager”) and Konstantin Ryabinov (Kuzya Uo). It can be seen as a side-project of legendary Siberian punk/psychedelic band Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Civil Defense, known for short as “GrOb” or “Coffin”). The project recorded diverse compositions and sound collages mocking soviet reality, making heavy use of sampling, found sounds and industrial/electronic experimentation.
