小島麻由美 (Kojima Mayumi, born September 30 1972) is a Japanese singer and musician from Tokyo under the record label PONY CANYON. She has released seven studio albums, two compilations and a live album. Kojima first got in contact with American music from the 50's in high school and wished to make similar music ever since. At age 18, she sent her first song "真夏の海" (Midsummer's Sea) to a record company and was promptly taken under contract. Eventually she debuted with the single "結婚相談所" (Marriage Bureau) on July 21, 1995.
