Emme Ya is the Columbian artist Edgar Kerval, who has been producing albums of ritual ambient music since at least 2010. The name "Emme Ya" comes from the mythology of the Dogon tribe, who believe that the brightest star in the sky, Sirius (sigi tolo or 'star of the Sigui'), has two companion stars, pō tolo (the Digitaria star), and ęmmę ya tolo, (the female Sorghum star).
