The Poor Souls of Pompeii The Poor Souls of Pompeii
Hailing from London, UK, The Poor Souls of Pompeii used to be an indie power pop foursome. Having found Mani Kashmiri practising air guitar on the London Underground, singer Andy Pisanu recruited Mark Dolan to play bass on a park bench outside a notorious Highgate boozer. Si Cross joined around a year later, when it became apparent that the original drummer would rather attend christenings in Liverpool than spend time in the studio eating lasagne and Tunnock's caramel wafers. The Poor Souls' songs consist of heart-wrenching lyrics, four-to-the-floor bassdrum beats and soaring guitars.
