Born Judith Coster in Hornchurch, Essex, Tammy St. John recorded several singles for Pye Records during the 1960s, most notably a version of Fangette Willett's 'Dark Shadows and Empty Hallways' which went on to inspire artists as diverse as Saint Etienne and Non and was released when she was just 14 years old.
