Melton S. Mustafa was born in Miami, Florida. Started playing trumpet in the 8th grade and began writing and performing music professionally while still in high school. Melton attended Mississippi Valley State University 1965-67, Florida A&M University 1967-1969, Berklee School of Music 1966 and University of Miami in 2000. As an entrepreneur, Mustafa Mustafa is affiliated with ZAKI Publishing, Inc., The Melton Mustafa Orchestra, Inc., and MSM Arts, Inc. a non-profit Arts Organization.
