Cántara was born in 1984 in order to research and popularize dancing as well as traditional Asturian Music. After all the hard work, Cántara starts of with the bagpipe band made up about 22 members with instruments such as bagpipes, percussions and accordions. The work done in this period if time took shape in the recording of three records made between 1995-1999 with a great welcome by the critics and public.
